The head is designed to sealing machines for pharmaceutical and food industries, especially where fast retooling for the wide assortment is required. The characteristic feature of the solution is the connection of the head drive that is executed by a servo motor with a triple-jaw, pneumatic gripper. The use of the servo motor enables precise setting of the sealing parameter and repeatability of the sealing process, and tightness of the sealed packaging.

1. PCA-1 suspended battery drivetrain

The PCA-1 drivetrain is designed for shunting of the transport units across the suspended rail track. It is adapted for use in potentially explosive surroundings (gas, dust). Battery powered operation eliminates the range limitation thanks to the power cables’ length. It can be used in difficult-to-access areas. The drivetrain is equipped with a braking energy recovery system. It is characterized by a completely neutral impact on the environment.
2. Gear testing station

Gear testing station was developed in the circulating power system; it is designed for operational testing of cylindrical gears. These tests allow to identify and quantify the machine run during the processes of gear wearing, which occurs in these specific conditions. The station’s control system allows for seamless transition and adjustment of the parameters during the station’s operation. Remote web access to the control system facilitates the ongoing data stream monitoring during continuous long-term operation.
3. Silicon particle detectors

A unique technology of silicon particle detectors and detector arrays with p +-n-n + structure for use in radiation dosimetry and exposimetry of nuclear radiation and core testing of transactinides (artificial elements with atomic number > 103). In cooperation with partners from Germany and Switzerland the models of the specialized detectors for neutron dosimeter for radon exposimeter for the COMPACT system, the COLD system and for the TASCA separator were designed and built in the Institute.

Bimetallic electrodes are made of nickel core and low carbon steel jacket. In comparison with NiFe alloy electrodes, these have higher conductivity. These welding electrodes are not subject to overheating. They are designed for welding cast iron according to AWS A5.15 and DIN 8573. These electrodes can be used for repairing cracks in casting and correcting machining flaws. They are provided as covered or uncoated electrodes. The electrode’s preparation process is based on the patent of the Non-Ferrous Metals Institute.

Sodium tungstate dihydrate, which occurs in the form of white powder, is soluble in water, soluble in ammonia and slightly soluble in most common organic solvents. It is used in organic chemistry as a catalyst in oxidation and reduction reactions in the production of dyes and in textile industry. In organic chemistry it has been used as a catalyst for the epoxidation of alkenes and the oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes or ketones. It is used as a fireproofing agent and for the treatment of diabetes.
6. Thermal deformation compensation system propeller axis CNC machine tools

The demonstrated system eliminates the negative effect of thermal deformation on the accuracy of drive axle positioning of CNC machine tools. Compensation is performed using the control system implemented in the module, based on data from temperature sensors placed along the lead screw. This solution is for the drive axles of the rotary position transducer pulse. It is characterized by a low cost compared to competitive available magnetic or optical scales.

8. IM MDD-501 DIAGNOSTIC STAND

9. Wireless, multi-station welding parameter recording system

The purpose of the system is to simultaneously monitor the parameters of arc welding on many welding stations. The system provides high quality and repeatability of production through the elimination or reduction of deficiencies and reduction of production costs. The modernity of the system consists in the use of wireless networks for communication with the measurement modules. Its construction uses innovative technology developed as part of the research conducted by the Institute of Welding.
10. Automatic special-purpose UR 291 line for the production of the front beam for railway car trucks along with innovative technology of the spatial bending of channel bars

11. Transportation system based on the use of new methods of coupling the road train and a new generation of hydraulic brake control system for towed vehicles

The transport system uses a unique and the only one in Europe electro-pneumatic-hydraulic brake system according to the PIMR Poznan invention submitted for patent protection. In open trucks, pressure sensors are fitted onto the brake pump, which use the electric signal to control the operation of the trailer’s drum or disc brakes. The brake system is equipped with EBS drive stabilization system that prevents tipping of the trailer, which moves along the curve with excessive speed. The brake system has been two European approvals. In addition, the system utilizes four PIMR inventions, which have obtained patents of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland. System’s advantages: improved safety and traffic flow, lower noise emission to the environment, improved traction properties of the transport set, increasing the load-bearing capacity of road trains through the use of "goose neck" trailers, reduction of fuel consumption (per year by approximately 75 thousand tons) and reduction of fumes emissions to the environment, a significant reduction of transport time, compared to the transport using a tractor.
12. “Ekomix” and bentonite-ecomix mixture called “Cermix”

Ekomix makes it possible to obtain good-quality castings surfaces. It is a component of bentonite mixtures used in casting, synthetic moulding sands, as a bright coal replacement for coal dust. Its content in the sandmix is almost threefold less than that of coal dust, which reduces emissions of harmful gases in the casting process. It largely affects the neutralization of the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

The passive composite armor protection, designed by PANCERMET Consortium and the Foundry Research Institute, is highly effective in protecting against low-caliber AP bullets, shrapnel and small firearms bullets. Unique solutions implemented in the design of the armor structure and modern production method make this type of armor strong, yet very light, which greatly affects the reduction of fuel consumption and increases the mobility of the protected objects.
